Terms of Service

Effective 13 June 2026

1. About these terms

SproutDB is a Chrome extension operated by SproutDB (“we”, “us”). By installing or using SproutDB you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't install or use it.

2. What SproutDB does

SproutDB runs in your browser while you view LinkedIn profiles. When you choose to save a profile, it reads the details visible on that page and writes them into your own JobAdder account as a candidate or contact. It acts only when you click — it does not auto-collect, bulk-scrape, crawl, or automate any LinkedIn activity, and it visits no profile you haven't opened yourself.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You need your own valid JobAdder account with appropriate permissions, and your own LinkedIn account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your accounts.

4. Your responsibilities and acceptable use

This is important. By using SproutDB you agree that:

  • You will use SproutDB in accordance with LinkedIn's User Agreement and JobAdder's terms, and you are solely responsible for your own compliance with them. LinkedIn restricts certain uses of its platform and data; how you use the information you save is your responsibility, not ours.
  • You have a lawful basis and the necessary rights to collect, store, and process the personal information of the people whose profiles you save, and you will comply with all applicable data-protection laws (including the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and, where relevant, the GDPR).
  • You will not use SproutDB for bulk harvesting, resale of data, automated mass-saving, or any unlawful, deceptive, or abusive purpose.
  • You use SproutDB on your own accounts and at your own risk. We are not responsible for any restriction, suspension, ban, or other action that LinkedIn, JobAdder, or anyone else takes against your account as a result of your use.

5. No affiliation with LinkedIn or JobAdder

SproutDB is an independent tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any partnership with LinkedIn Corporation or JobAdder. “LinkedIn” and “JobAdder” are trademarks of their respective owners, referred to only to describe what SproutDB works with.

6. Subscription, trial, and billing

SproutDB is offered on a subscription basis with a free trial period (currently 30 days, no card required to start). Billing is handled by our payment provider, ExtensionPay. After the trial, continued use requires a paid subscription. You can cancel at any time and your subscription will not renew for the next period; fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing on reasonable notice.

7. Dependence on LinkedIn's page structure

SproutDB reads data from LinkedIn's pages, whose layout LinkedIn can change at any time without notice. When that happens, parsing may break or become inaccurate until we update the extension. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and you should check saved records for accuracy.

8. “As is”, and your consumer rights

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SproutDB is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, and we exclude all implied terms.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability for a failure to meet a consumer guarantee can be limited, it is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business, arising from or connected with your use of SproutDB — including any restriction, suspension, or other action taken against your LinkedIn or JobAdder account. To the extent we have any liability not otherwise excluded, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us for SproutDB in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any claim, liability, loss, or cost (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your use or misuse of SproutDB, your breach of these terms, or your breach of any third party's terms or rights (including LinkedIn's, JobAdder's, or any individual whose data you process).

11. Intellectual property

SproutDB, its code, and its branding are owned by us. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the extension while your subscription or trial is active. You may not copy, decompile, resell, or redistribute it.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using SproutDB and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or use the extension in a way that risks harm to us, to LinkedIn or JobAdder, or to others.

13. Changes, governing law, and contact

We may update these terms; the current version always lives at this page with its effective date, and continued use means you accept the update. These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia, and you submit to the courts of that jurisdiction. Questions: hello@sproutdb.au.
